Compliments

I've learned that compliments can sometimes come in strange forms. Tonight, I received an awesome one from The Boy. He said, "You know, sometimes I forget who I'm married to."

Taken out of context, that could seem like an insult, right? But no, I assure you, it was meant with the sweetest sincerity. You see, there was an impromptu going away party for one of the Soldiers in his unit. I felt bad, noting that there was nobody taking pictures for her - so I told him I was going home to get the camera. He said, "Is it all charged up? Plenty of batteries? And an empty card?" I sort of laughed, smiled, and said, "Yes" - with a smile. That was his response, "You know, sometimes I forget who I'm married to."

I was on cloud 9. Doesn't take much, eh? :)
