Why is that when I'm speaking to someone whose native tongue is NOT English, I end up using every single freaking weirdo expression that exists?

I said it was "hot enough to bake biscuits" the other day in the office. Followed later that afternoon by "useless as tits on a boar hog."

So, I had to laugh when I saw an explanation of "look a gift horse in the mouth" via Ask Yahoo, advertised on my Gmail account. Apparently, even my email program knows I'm an idiot who can't go more than a few minutes without saying something crazy, that doesn't make much sense when translated literally.

Which reminds me... in Spanish class (oh, about 15 years ago), I learned the Spanish expression for "it's raining cats and dogs" translated literally from Spanish means "it's raining rope." I just thought I'd share.
